An intensive course tailored for therapists setting up in business.

Improve understanding of aspects of running your own business. From Tax and NI to advertising and giving a public talk, this Business Studies course will help you gain the understanding and expertise required.

This course is vital for those wishing to pursue a career in the complementary field, having been tailored to suit the needs of the therapist. Being a pre-requisite for accrediting bodies, such as the IFPA, FHT and ITEC, this heavy subject is approached in a friendly manner with lots of student interaction and helps to understand this tricky subject.

The course will teach you how to set up in business and produce your own simple accounts and the necessity and format of all main aspects of record keeping. You will also learn how to promote yourself as a therapist, by looking at different marketing techniques and USPs (Unique Selling Points).

Advice on how you should price the therapies which you offer is included as well as how to set your own realistic goals of achievement as well as advice and guidance on the completion of a business plan, a copy of which should be submitted within 3 months of the course. A certificate is awarded after the completion of your business plan.

Pre-requisite

  • This course is required to be completed for the issue of our diploma courses and is available to all students, and may also be taken at any stage of their training. It is assessed by a business portfolio.  Can be viewed as a refresher for those returning to self-employment. If a qualification has already been achieved then exemptions may be considered.
