Indian Head Massage Diploma
Designed for qualified therapists, this practical diploma course provides the knowledge and hands-on skills required to confidently deliver professional Indian Head Massage treatments. Combining traditional techniques with modern therapeutic practice, the course explores the physical, emotional and energetic benefits of this deeply relaxing therapy.
The simplicity of the treatment is that it can be performed almost anywhere. No clothing needs to be removed and only a chair is required, making it ideal for clinic settings, workplace wellbeing programmes, events and holistic therapy practices.
The treatment works on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face, using a variety of massage movements designed to support relaxation, comfort and wellbeing. This popular diploma course teaches a seated full head, neck and shoulder routine and discusses Ayurvedic principles of healing. Students will learn a comprehensive 45-minute treatment incorporating over 40 massage movements, whilst also exploring contraindications, anatomy and physiology of the head and shoulders, and the effects of massage on the lymphatic system.

There are three case studies of three treatments each to be completed before an in-house qualification accredited by the FHT Certificate of Competence is issued.

The course explores a range of oils traditionally used within Indian Head Massage, including:

We recommend loose, comfortable trousers and tops that allow easy movement. All loose tops should be tucked in during practical work. Shoes should be flat and comfortable.
In House Course Booking & Cancellations
Book online, email courses@penny-price.com, or call 01455 251020. You will be asked for full payment of the course fee or given the option to pay for your course in instalments by choosing to ‘pay in three’ with PayPal or in four instalments via Clear Pay.
All bookings will be acknowledged with a letter of acceptance, sent via email unless otherwise requested, and there will be an official enrolment form to fill out and return to the academy together with copies of any pre-requisite qualifications. There is a booking deadline of the Monday, two weeks before the course start date.
If you are unable to attend an in-House course for any reason, the following will apply:
- Cancellations giving over 14 days’ notice will receive a full refund (or have funds transferred to another course booking) less a cancellation fee of £10.
- If you fail to attend on the day of the course with no reasoning, you will not receive a refund
- Cancellations made within 14 days of the course start date will forfeit 50% of the full course fee paid.
- If there are mitigating circumstances, please contact the Academy to organise a solution as soon as you are able to do so.
If the Academy cancels a course:
- To be given a free transfer to the next available course of the same title or value.
- If the course is available via other learning methods, the Student will have the option to transfer to Distance Learning, or Live Learning where available, with no added cost. If the student chooses to transfer to E-Learning then a refund for the difference will be processed upon enrolment.
- If the course is a CPD, the student has the option to take the course on a 1-2-1 basis for an extra charge of £75 per day
