Care of the Elderly and Aromatherapy is a course to determine which essential oils are best suited to the frail and elderly, and which methods of use are the most effective in cases of different common ailments. Several common ailments are discussed in detail, as well as the treatment plans and applications for each ailment, in the light of individuality.
Some of the greatest benefits to both patients and carers come from the use of essential oils with the elderly, since quality of life is improved for all concerned. Studies are presented that show definite reductions in the need for medication for sleep disturbances in settings where aromatherapy has been tried. Treatments for a variety of conditions often associated with old age are given, with particular reference to rheumatology.
