Breathing is life and to breathe is to live. Breathing correctly and without impairment is crucial for good health; circulation, muscular health, mental health and cellular health. As it oxygenates the body it is also important for mental health. Some respiratory conditions can even lead to depression. Respiratory Conditions and Aromatherapy is a course that will look at the physiology and anatomy of the respiratory system, and the disorders that can affect it. There will be treatment plans using essential oils and the chemistry of oils will also be discussed.
Treatment plans are documented and explored, as are contra-indications and precautions. Practical application skills are also learned, including a back and chest treatment, the use of pressure points and trigger points and inhalation methods.

What to Wear?
Students at the Academy are encouraged to be relaxed and at ease. For this reason, it is recommended loose comfortable trousers and tops are worn that enable easy movement and do not restrict the body. All loose tops and shirts should be tucked in to prevent ‘trailing’ on the client for practical courses. Shoes should be flat-heeled and comfortable.
